Our Commitment to Families

Scene Battle is designed from the ground up to be safe for families. Only adults create accounts. Children never interact directly with our payment system, account creation flow, or data systems. Parents and guardians are in complete control of every aspect of their children's Scene Battle experience.

How Child Profiles Work

Child profiles are sub-profiles created inside an adult account. They are not separate WordPress accounts and do not have independent login credentials. A child profile exists only within the parent's account and is controlled entirely by the adult account holder.

To create a child profile, the adult account holder provides: a stage name of their choosing (fictional names are encouraged and strongly recommended), an age band (Under 13, 13–17, or 18+), and sex (Male or Female). This information is used solely to assign appropriate script roles.

What Data We Collect About Children — And What We Do Not

Scene Battle collects only the minimum information necessary:

✅ Stage name (fictional — we never require a real name)

✅ Age band (Under 13 / 13–17 / 18+) — not an exact birthdate

✅ Sex (Male or Female) — for script role assignment only

We do not collect:

❌ Real names

❌ Exact ages or birthdates

❌ Email addresses for children

❌ Phone numbers

❌ Photographs or profile pictures

❌ Location data

❌ Any payment information

We do not use child profile data for advertising and do not share it with third parties without explicit separate parental consent.

Parental Controls

Category access: Parents set which script categories are available for each child profile. Age bands are enforced automatically — a child in the Under 13 band cannot access Drama Kings & Queens or Grown Up Scene regardless of account settings. Parents may further restrict access beyond these automatic limits.

Script access: Scripts are unlocked per-profile by the parent using credits. A child profile's script access button only becomes available when all checks pass: active account, valid credit, age eligibility, and parent-approved category access.

Video posting: If a project involves a minor, the default setting is private delivery only — the edited video is emailed back to the adult account holder and not posted publicly. Public posting on Scene Battle social media requires explicit adult opt-in at the time of upload. Parents control this setting for every upload.

COPPA Compliance

Scene Battle complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the 2025 COPPA Rule amendments. Because all child interaction occurs through adult-controlled sub-profiles, and because we collect only the minimum data necessary for script role assignment, Scene Battle's child data architecture is designed to minimize exposure and maximize parental control.

By creating a child profile, the adult account holder provides verifiable parental consent for Scene Battle to collect and process the child's stage name, age band, and sex for the purposes described in this policy.

Your Rights as a Parent or Guardian

At any time, you may:

• View all data associated with any child profile in your dashboard

• Edit or correct any child profile data

• Delete any child profile

• Restrict or expand category access for any child profile

• Request complete deletion of all data associated with your account

• Revoke consent for a child's profile by deleting that profile

Video Content Involving Minors

Scene Battle requires that all video content involving minors be uploaded by the adult account holder. Adults control whether minor video content is shared publicly. By uploading video content involving a minor, the adult account holder confirms they are the parent or legal guardian of the minor depicted, have supervised the filming, and consent to Scene Battle processing the video for editing and delivery as described in the Terms of Service.

Scene Battle staff reviews all videos before delivery and before any public posting. Videos involving minors that are approved for public posting are reviewed with heightened care.
