1. Who We Are

Scene Battle ("Scene Battle," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website scenebattle.com and the Scene Battle platform. We provide monthly drama script packages, video upload services, and edited video delivery to individuals, families, churches, schools, and friend groups. Our registered contact email is privacy@scenebattle.com. Scene Battle is operated from Tennessee, United States.

2. The Data We Collect — And What We Do Not Collect

Adult account holders: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not store your payment card details — all payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. and governed by Stripe's privacy policy. We receive a Stripe Customer ID and charge confirmation only.

Child profiles (sub-profiles under your adult account): Scene Battle is designed to minimize child data collection. When a parent or guardian creates a child profile, we collect only: a self-chosen stage name (which may be entirely fictional), a general age band (Under 13, 13–17, or 18+), and sex (Male or Female) for script role assignment purposes. We do not collect real names, exact birthdates, email addresses, phone numbers, photographs, or any payment information from or about child profiles. Child profiles are sub-accounts under a verified adult account and do not have independent login credentials.

Funnel participants: Stage names, age bands, and sex entered during script purchase are session-specific entries used for script role assignment. They are not saved as persistent profiles unless you choose to create a child profile in your dashboard.

Uploaded video content: When you upload video clips or full episodes, those files are stored on our servers in a protected directory not accessible via public URL. Files are associated with your account and the specific purchase they relate to.

Usage data: We collect standard server logs including IP addresses and browser type for security monitoring purposes. We use CookieAdmin for cookie consent management.

3. Children's Privacy — COPPA Compliance

Scene Battle takes children's privacy seriously and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), including the 2025 amendments effective June 23, 2025.

Adult-only accounts: Only individuals 18 years of age or older may create Scene Battle accounts. Children do not create independent accounts. All child access is controlled through a parent or guardian's adult account.

Minimal child data: We collect the absolute minimum data necessary for script role assignment — a fictional stage name, an age band, and sex. We do not collect any other personal information from or about children.

Parental consent: By creating a child profile, the adult account holder confirms they are the parent or legal guardian of the child and consents to Scene Battle collecting and processing the child's stage name, age band, and sex solely for the purpose of script assignment and account management.

Parental rights: Parents and guardians may at any time: view the data associated with any child profile under their account; edit or correct that data; delete a child profile; or request deletion of all data associated with their account. To exercise these rights, email privacy@scenebattle.com or use the data deletion request in your Account Settings.

No third-party disclosure of child data: We do not disclose child profile data to any third party without separate explicit parental consent, except as required by law.

Minor video content: If a project involves a minor, video uploads are set to private return only by default. Public posting on Scene Battle social media requires explicit adult opt-in at the time of upload.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to: create and manage your account; process payments through Stripe; assign script roles based on age band and sex; deliver your script package and edited video; send transactional emails (purchase confirmation, script delivery, video delivery, credit notifications); respond to support requests; and maintain the security and integrity of our platform.

We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

Stripe: All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Scene Battle never receives or stores your full card number, CVV, or expiration date. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

CookieAdmin: We use CookieAdmin Pro for cookie consent management. Their privacy policy is available at cookieadmin.net.

Editing provider: Uploaded video clips are transmitted to our video editing provider for processing. Our editing provider agreement requires them to process files solely for the purpose of editing and to delete source files after delivery. We will update this policy when our editing provider is confirmed.

TikTok and YouTube: If you opt in to the Scene Battle social feed, your approved edited video may be posted to Scene Battle's TikTok and YouTube accounts. Once posted to those platforms, their respective privacy policies and terms govern the content.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (such as payment records for tax purposes, which we retain for 7 years).

Child profile data is deleted when the parent deletes the profile or when the parent's account is deleted. Uploaded video files are deleted from our servers after the editing process is complete and the finished video has been delivered.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted HTTPS connections, protected file storage directories, hashed passwords, rate limiting on login attempts, and nonce verification on all form submissions. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and subject to PCI DSS compliance.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we work to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies

We use cookies for: session management (WordPress login cookies); your cookie consent preferences (CookieAdmin); and the clapperboard animation (a one-day cookie so the intro plays only once). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@scenebattle.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of Scene Battle after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
